Playa Carrillo

Playa Carrillo is perhaps Costa Rica’s prettiest beach, and surprisingly, one of the least developed yet well-known vacation destinations on the peninsula. It is backed by a protected mangrove estuary, making it one of the few undeveloped beaches visited. The town of Carrillo, including most hotels, restaurants, and other amenities, is located in the hills above the shoreline and enjoys cool ocean breezes and stunning Pacific sunsets, as well as small-town charm.

Postcard-perfect Carrillo

Playa Carrillo is truly the poster child of beautiful beaches. Its wide stretch of soft white sand and swaying palms border clear turquoise waters. The local fisherman port is one end of the bay, and the other offers near-shore coral reefs for snorkeling. The beach holds title to the Blue Flag Award for its clean water and surroundings. Don’t miss spending at least one day enjoying this little piece of heaven.
