The Southern Zone

Bold and beautiful coastlines are what most people think about when considering Costa Rica’s Southern Zone. And it’s true. From Playa Dominical all the way to the tip of the Osa Peninsula are some of the most spectacular and sparsely populated beaches and beach communities.

But there’s a whole other world to be discovered in the country’s central south. Massive mountain ranges, volcanoes, and vast blankets of rain and cloud forests await discovery. A paradisiacal frontier for travelers wanting to explore the depths – and glimpse the inhabitants of – Costa Rica’s wilds.
