Playa Hermosa (Cobano District)
A surfer’s Paradise, Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica, is the northernmost vacation escape along a string of connected beach towns, including Santa Teresa and Malpais. The area comprises the southernmost Pacific-facing stretch of the peninsula, terminating in the Cabo Blanco Absolute Nature Reserve.
Playa Hermosa isn’t a town per se, but more of a mix of luxury homes and hotels with the occasional international restaurant thrown in.
Beautiful Beach
True to its name, Playa Hermosa is utterly beautiful and boasts an expansive stretch of soft, wave-lapped sand at low tide backed by shade-bearing palm trees and wild almonds. It is the perfect place for a picnic, surfing, a game of soccer, or tide-pool exploration.
A visit to Playa Hermosa and its assortment of luxury hotels offers respite from its bustling beach town neighbors and lively night scene.
